Commerce Names Schneider Director of Economic Development & Finance

The North Dakota Department of Commerce has named John Schneider as Economic Development & Finance Division Director.
 
Schneider will lead the state's economic development strategy and assist in coordinating the state's economic development resources to attract, retain and expand wealth. Schneider has served as interim director since January. He replaced past director Paul Lucy.
 
"John’s extensive experience in value-added agriculture and unmanned systems will be a great asset for the state of North Dakota," Commerce Commissioner Jay Schuler said. “His extensive knowledge and experience will help North Dakota to continue to offer a business-friendly environment by creating growth and enhancing the quality of life for our citizens.”
 
A native of Rugby, ND, Schneider previously served as executive director for the Agricultural Products Utilization Commission over the last 16 years. He served as the Interim State Director of the Small Business Development Centers, and was the Executive Director for Harvey Area Economic Development. Schneider earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and business administration from North Dakota State University.
